Chief Spadafora and his family would deeply appreciate your donation of blood and/or platelets and requests that you also ask others to donate. All donations that are not used by him will be released for use to other patients, many of whom are children. Firefighter Kyle Jameson, 34 years old, married with a son who is a year old, is at Sloan Kettering, Room 1232, 12th Floor. As per his wife, visitors (especially Firefighters) are encouraged due to his emotional state. The Emerald Society, FDNY, Annual Scholarship Examination for boys and girls will be held on Saturday, March 5th, 8:30 am to 11:30 am at All Hallows High School, 114 East 164th Street, Bronx, NY. Children who will be graduating from 8th Grade or Junior High School in 2016 are eligible if a parent or sibling is a member of the Emerald Society in good standing. Applications for this examination may be obtained from Borough Officers and Company Delegates of the Emerald Society. The 43rd Annual FDNY Firefighters Ski Races at Hunter Mountain will take place on Tuesday, March 8th. There will be a Deck Party along with trophies for each 1st, 2nd, 3rd place ski teams and snowboard teams. Proceeds will be donated to the NY Firefighters Burn Center Foundation. The 2016 King of the Ice Tournament is scheduled to start on March 21st. This year will be held at a new location (Twin Rinks at Eisenhower Park) in East Meadow, Long Island. Preliminary games will be held in two rinks from March 21-25 and playoffs will be March 29-31 with final being held at end of day on March 31st. Applications can be found online at Efforts will be made to accommodate all team entries, however, only the first 96 teams will be guaranteed entry. FDNY vs NYPD Hockey Game

The 43rd FDNY vs NYPD Annual Hockey Game will take place at Madison Square Garden on Saturday, April 9th at 7pm. Tickets are available through team members, MSG Box Office, and Ticketmaster. Registration is now open for the 4th annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run/Walk and Community Day which will be held on Sunday, April 24th. The event begins at Pier 26 in Tribeca and takes participants through scenic Battery Park along the waterfront esplanade before finishing near the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
